B-side quilted. Still undecided on the zipper, but leaning towards French seams. Had solids left from the jelly roll, but nothing patterned. Pulled apart the leftover scales and improvised a patchwork block for the tail fin. Probably should have put more thought into it, but hoping to finish this weekend, which means no fixating. It’s not meant to be an heirloom, just fun to watch cartoons in. And OK to spill things on.
Passing on the zipper and decided against the French seams. The aesthetic is great but easing in curves with this much bulk feels dicey. I figure at least one needle break before the seams are set and bound.
