Trying to get out of my head and into my hands. Sew thru the fretting. Which starts with coming to grips with what I have and how I use it. Which means more reorganizing in the craft lab. Pretty much on schedule.
My scrap bag has been full since I packed my sewing things away. It’s my first bag of scraps, so I didn’t really know what to do with them. I didn’t have a YouTube team of experts when I was trying to teach myself this shit. I’ve picked up so many new techniques and hacks. Bless Karen Brown and her masking tape ledge. I was a little concerned that the wonky edge was from sewing, but I think thats the ghost of rotaries past, cause the other side is perfect.
As the ghosts of projects past (so. many. bibs.), scraps got processed into 2.5″ strips, charm squares, miscellaneous strips under 2.5″, and a few crumbs with sentimental value. There are a few orphan blocks / scales and the potential bindings are wrapped around straws. Once Amazon delivers my plastic tubs, I can sort the last of it away.
Opened up several shelves of prime forefront real estate. I do love a reorg. Tabletop and the stitchcraft are consolidated, the low traffic items are in the most awkward places, and the tacklebox is empty. Lovely to have everything organized and visible. I even ironed my scraps – not the small strips, but everything else.
Cut thread bunnies from fabric I never cared for, improvised a thread sack, and found a pattern for an organizer that checks all my boxes for ground zero. With any luck, I can start cutting fabric tomorrow.
