Four coats of rattle can varnish, one every hour, which looked pretty decent last night. Right up until I decided to leave it out on the porch. The cold was not my friend. Or maybe it was the coat of dew I discovered this morning – way too soon for standing water. Two brush coats of Liquitex gloss varnish alleviated the worst of it, but there is more color variance than I was expecting. Given it’s embarking on a new life as a photo booth, I’m not too fussed.
