The last bottle of paint was supposed to be delivered USPS today, but my letter carrier has been and gone with three measly panes left. I cut and pulled the tape. Over. this. shit. As I am the soul of patience, I refilled my last partial bottle with Crystal Clear and married in the last of the odds-and-ends. Worst case, it’s the light end of the spectrum. Whoopti-freaking-doo.
Not like it’s perfect now. Not that I’m unhappy with it. I’m actually quite pleased at how it turned out, as first attempts go. Plenty of room left for improvement.
- Don’t shake the bottle at the window
- Even if it doesn’t splatter paint, it will bubble like mad
- Order of operations is always a thing
- Can’t rest your hand on a wet pane
- Tough to clean paint off the lead lines if the neighboring pane is also wet
- If there is a wet pane, the rag will end up in it
- And my thumb
- Gravity is also a thing
- Thinner at the top, pooling at the bottom
- Combing each pane smooth and popping all the bubbles takes more time than I cared to spend
Fortunately, I am the only one that cares to be all up in this kool-aid. It looks better from a few steps back and pretty fun from across the room. It’s still lumpy and bumpy, but I can live with it.
