Revisited with a less sleepy head and moved the middle ground bushes. Reblocked the foliage and the tree trunks, but still not feeling it. What I really don’t like is the jagged leaf brush specified by the artist; it feels entirely out of pace in my Hanna-Barbera derivative.

I think I’m going to move on to the next artist’s exercise. She prefers color blocking first, rather than filling in the underpainting later, which is also my preference. It’s an interesting approach, and good to keep in mind, but until I find my feet simpler is better. Sticking with digitizing my physical approach to painting for now.
