Finally observed no craft-Monday, but now I have new toys from Darksword Minis 👏 I’m liking the metal models. They allow for an impressive amount of detail without being overly fragile or finicky.
Is it wrong that I want to make the turtle druid Donatello? They’ll need some pinning and gap filling, but beats bits falling off everytime I knock one over. I must have broken at least 3 twigs off the treelord just flipping him around to get a better angle. So. fiddly. Speaking of – no new projects until he’s done.
OK, I’m tired. Staff has a paler base than his bark, but the same dry brushed Harvest Brown top coat. I had no fluor violet, so I had to improvise, but I’m past the color blockade. No doubt I will fiddle tomorrow, trying to make the pink blend better, but tweaks only. Tweaks and basing. For better or worse, time to take the lessons as learned and move on to another model. Or another tree… Maybe cherry this time, save the pink for that.
Also, the enemies attack you from strange, non-Euclidean angles where it’s not clear how to hit them back, as if the game was designed by H.P. Lovecraft’s nightmares. On top of that, Dimension X Assault uses four AA batteries, while the Konami games used only two. Straight bullshit.
