Not sure what I was thinking with the airbrush. I blame all the mini painting videos with one hand holding the model and the other spraying. Not like I whack at minis one handed with bristles either.
I think I finally have the grip down – right ring finger along the barrel, left middle on the trigger in a sort of relaxed Weaver. Because the air pressue was so low I couldn’t hear it over the spray booth filter, but judging by the overspray, I feel confident.
Watercolors are easy to clean up, but possibly not the best medium for practicing mixing or learning to judge viscosity. I have to drop the pressure to 11 psi just to keep them from spidering. I haven’t had a problem leaving the air on, but quick trigger releases are a thing; momentum is going to be interesting to achieve.
Sadly I also had a mishap with my original Evie. She was already crooked, and the legs I could work with – I broke poor Suzi’s in two places – but I’m not going to kit bash weapons onto a build that’s barely hanging together. This whole last round of eBay printed minis has been fragile AF; I’ve never had so many breaks. Hopefully I can get my replacement painted before anything else goes awry. On the bright side, I like this one better.
