Finally called it – as usual my “two day project” spun closer to a month. I capped things with a varnish party, since I generally tell myself that I’ll varnish after I paint and then paint until my hand cramps and I can’t spend another minute breathing like Dark Helmet.
This time I pulled all the recents, as a double coat of seal is really the only hope against gamers. The trimethyl-borate axe team, the roller-derby assassins, my Gloomhaven party (holy crap that took for. ev. er.), and my 5 Parsecs from home crew, Down to Duck.
I feel like the pigs came out flat and dusty. Maybe its the juxtaposition with the more concentrated contrast of the grots, or maybe I failed to bring it. I’ll have to see how the pictures turn out, now that the CRI>95 lightbox has arrived. Sticking with the iPhone to test the box – limited variables for my limited skill set.
Since everything was already out, it seemed like a good time to mark something else off the list. Hardwood from below with Sand Golem from above lending a lovely golden tone. Since they’re Army Painter Speed Paints, they’ll need to cure before detail work or highlights, lest the flaky reactivation frustration recur. Or come full circle and varnish it, which I would have done had I not painted until my hand cramped.
