First time I’ve busted out the clay since the Zig. It really holds the roller pattern well. And wow, does that ever look worse in the picture than in person. Schnikes. Some of it is shadow, which will be better, and it is the inside of a drawer, so there’s that.
When I order the rollers, I expected more uniformity in the pattern. The variety is nice in some ways, but also quite indentifiable in others. One of those things you can’t unsee. Still, I prefer the clay cladding to the bare balsa, so hopefully paint improves the situation. And if not, well, it’s a cardboard drawer for storing solder. Failure is part of life, its only when you give up that the chance of success plummets. We’ll see how tomorrow soldifies.
