I’m thinking the bottom left, with the jellyfish rising behind the clifftop cactus. Maybe some clouds and stars. I went back and forth, raising and lowering the horizon, and finally split the difference. It appears what I really love is the arch. I prefer the bottom two, more open land and less looming cliff face; night sky lit by jellyfish like fairy lights, fading into the distance of dissapating heat.
Thinking about the story aspect, leaning into the big sky. Flipped a few of the jellyfish to reinforce freeform flight, like the crows pre-roosting in the park at dusk. Freedom, flight, open space. I was thinking some kind of vintage bumper, but the motorcycle leans into the romanticized western outlaw of it all.
I think maybe the midground arch could shift left until it’s fully in frame – so long as it doesn’t line up too perfectly with the foreground rise. And fiddling with one thing becomes another. Time to duplicate the canvas and progress from sketching to painting. I’m not crazy about the call for sharp edges. It works for cliffs, but I prefer the fade and smaller gap. Tomorrow; is late again.

I wonder if I can use this for frosting letters.
