No problems with the layers curing, but still more shrinkage than I was hoping for. Ended up with unintentional shoals at the front edge. There’s also the matter of the bead of glue they called for at the edges; definitely submerged that shit. I can camouflage them both with water effects, but not really seeing anything here to recommend this method over resin. Cure time is about the same, unless we’re talking UV resin, and that is so much faster. It makes Gretchen do the snoopy dance.

I have gained an appreciation of sawdust flocking. I likely won’t attempt ground cover quite the same way again, but the clump bushes and tufts were helpful. The wildflowers have given me some ideas about incorporating other materials and reinforced that I need to build myself a static grass applicator and maybe a plate as well. I should run thru the list and see what I have on hand.

I wish the cured color were closer to the wet color. Easier to control with resin and acrylic inks or chalk pastels. OK, now I’m stalling. Nothing left for it but to break out the knife and start removing the cardboard.
