The next Procreate project is a character portrait. The artist’s exemplar is a little more…Emily in Paris than I care to draw. I decided to go with Vin in her mistcloak, probably on a rooftop, though I haven’t put much thought beyond that.
It seemed like a good time to get back to Hampton’s anatomy lessons, so I worked the basic gestures from references, and then built my choice up from landmarks. While there is obviously room for improvement, it made for a passable first attempt. The center of balance and weight distribution aren’t terrible.
The symmetry wiring is a beast to overcome. Foreshortening needs a lot more practice. I still want to try to match arm lengths, even when the arm is turned. In trying to look past the overlaps, I inadvertently over spaced limbs. I also rotated and un-tilted the torso too much, which stole any anticipation from the pose, leaving it too static.
