Started work on the bits and bobs for the fishing shack. My greeble hunt turned up a number of bead fixings with decent profiles in a variety of shapes and textures. Hopefully once they’re primed, they’ll provide sufficient variety without crossing into crazy town. Now that I have the airbrush station, I can prime them at my desk and not freeze my ass off on the balcony. I should test the blue pearl paint while I’m at it.
Any fishing shack worth its salt preservation definitely needs plenty of nets. I tried a foam board and pins, like I used to weave Charlotte’s web, but I was using glue that round. This time I turned up an old drive mount that’s heavy enough to make a decent loom. The initial test turned out well enough, but I’m going to need more to layer them effectively. Hopefully the floss takes enough color to tone down the outlandish on the test piece – paint, wash, or stain… Either way, the next net is natural toned with some round flat beads that should make excellent weights to knot it.
Sounds about right…
…during this project I’ve realized that the secret to making big projects is just to expect it to be way less work than it actually ends up being, and by the time you realize how much work it’s gonna be you’re too deep in it so then you just have to finish it ahahhah 🙃
