I always forget how much I’ve missed it until I’m gluing my fingers to something. The new desk is a vast improvement – in addition to not bouncing, there is room to have the hot wire cutter and the glue gun out at the same time and still work. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I meant to plan more, but really, it’s so much easier to just start. I managed to freehand a decent bevel on the porch side roof. Thinking about digging out the 4″ craft twigs for the pier. I think I still have that test run that I lashed together Huck Finn style.
I may shorten the roof overhang, but it doesn’t seem particularly sensible tonight. Better to check it out with fresh eyes in the morning. I already dropped an inch from the base; it was wicked tall for 28mm. I did manage to keep the two pieces discrete for painting, but still easy to attach. Wondering if attaching the pier and pouring the resin is a good idea though – will be rather huge. Would probably see more use on the table if it were just the hut…
