This one turned out alrightish, considering how long it took me to find a starting point. Leaving white space is not my strongest suit. The blender marker worked well for lifting color, but too much smear at the petal edges undid too much of the organic. Huh. Maybe I’ll go back later and try white ink over the top. Thinned out, the opacity could be useful. Would also be easier to blend with more colors. I ended up soaking through 3 pages of my sketch book.

The rose is a rose,
And was always a rose.
But now the theory goes
That the apple’s a rose,
And the pear is, and so’s
The plum, I suppose.
The dear only knows
What will next prove a rose.
You, of course, are a rose
But were always a rose.
