I think I need to give up on the idea of modular terrain that can be placed in any orientation. Too limiting. I started on one of the eighth sections of styrofoam packing material and kept building until I figured out what it was. Sorta. Good fit for leftover furniture dowels.

I wanted to try some OSL, but after last night’s marathon re-org, I really didn’t feel like dragging out the airbrush. I went with a dry brush instead. It’s sloppy, much like the lights themselves, but they get the job done. Not terrible for googly eyes with an epoxy putty makeover. I do love trash building.

The floor is cardstock with some quilting hexagons and PVA. Two coats of mustard, sepia wash, selective black dry brush, full brass dry brush, variable turquoise dry brush, sepia recess washing.

Selective umber washing to weather and I’m declaring it done and moving on to the green piece 🐳

The other eighth section. I decided to keep this one mostly monochromatic, basing in green, black, and chrome. When I was poking thru the trash pile, it occurred to me that green I based with was a match for the circuit boards, so I leaned into it.

Weathering in Van Dyke brown and sepia with an eggshell drybrush. The rear circuit board ended up being a skosh too long for the curvature of the wall, so I added a dowel to cover the awkward gappage. Done enough. I have this idea for a dragon fountain.

I intended to replace the craft closet shelves when I moved in, but I couldn’t find a unit that would fit my oddball closet, so I rolled with what I had. This week the catastrophe spread to unbearable levels. I finally found a unit that would fit.

While I was containing the disaster, I noticed the warning label on my LED strips.

How common is this exactly? Is this a Yosemite Sam, leaky barrel of gun powder kinda deal?
