You’re standing above me, with your heel at my cheek
I think I found a form that’s going to work for the guard stanchions. Three hours to figure it out and another 3 to assemble them all. The armatures are 20 gauge galvanized steel. I managed to puncture the crap out of my thumb forming them; that was super fun when I got to the nail polish remover for the cyanoacrylate.
We’re both hell-bound
The canal overlay bases are between 1/4″ and 1/8″ on the pasta roller. I rolled out a few snakes that I pressed in place with an acrylic rolling pin. A few cracks formed, which I patched with liquid Sculpey before I stippled.
Flick on the lighter, pull it ’til it hurts
I was planning on taking more pictures, but it was freaking cold on the balcony. No more stockpiling for marathon sessions; four hours with the airbrush is too long. Everything got based in Dr Ph Martin’s Warm Yellow ink. Rather than wash, I followed up with Army Painter Zealot Yellow speed paint, and then moved through Fire Giant Orange and Slaughter Red.
The crackle bases got straight Slaughter Red, but it feels too dark. I think I may add a white dry-brush and then overlay with Fire Red to highlight. I’m still debating how much more effort to put into them. I’m thinking at least painting the weaponry and eyeballs.
The sky, it is turning a crimson red
I need to figure out how to adjust for LEDs without cranking the exposure down to nothing. It looks insanely bright in photos. I think I’ve decided how to mount the pillars, once I get the crackle on the back of the buds.
