I think the basilisk and the pirate are done. Or as done as they’re going to get. I feel like I’ve hit my straightaway. I’ve saturated myself in information, now it’s time to wring the sponge and see how much has actually been absorbed. I don’t want to obsess over every brush stroke and I don’t think I’m going to learn anything else from videos until I’ve worked through what I’ve already watched. Until I live the montage and start trying and testing all of this shit out, there is no way to deepen my understanding or decide how crazy I want to get. I need to paint a lot more shit. Good thing I have Gits. And corvids. Still not sure about those damn trees though. Leviadon…
I pulled out the last of the boardgame minis – the 8 hero characters from Last Night on Earth. The game of horror movie cliches – 8 characters, 3 of which are hyper-sexualized females – Catholic school girl, the nurse from the Enema of the State album cover, and Daisy Duke. Between that and the zombie theme, I’m kinda over it. Most of what I remember about gameplay was KC kicking our butts as the Zombie Overlord. Maybe I’ll replace the characters – order some decent minis with actual clothes and flip the prepper weirdo to a chick… For now, I could use the practice. Though maybe not tonight. There’s nothing wrong with stopping after an hour.
