After having caused harmless bubbles many times in the past, never noticing any sort of repercussions, I finally did some research. Turns out the most likely causes are over brushing and overly fast brushing. Tonight I managed to end up with bubbles lodged in folds King Arthur’s cloak, though I don’t recall being particularly vigorous or persistent. Trying to cover them only created more; I’m wondering if the quality of the sculpts could have any effect. They’re board game pieces, so they’re not exactly the cleanest lines. There are legs that merge into cloaks, robes that are solid on the bottom, and recesses that lack any discernible detail, they start out OK and then and bottom out into an indistinguishable pool, rather than the detail that should be revealed.
Got more scraping to do on the bubbles, but it may have to wait until morning. I’m not sure if I can handle the blue dudes face anymore tonight – that is…schnikes. The yellow knight needs some cleanup, but the color blocked in well at least. Certainly better than the red-violet that doesn’t want to even out.
