Dry brushed once more. I left a few spots as they were, particularly on the undercarriage where I have a good jumping point for the grime. I’m fairly happy with the color and texture thus far, aside from that damn spot, which I will be turning into a scorch mark. But for now, time to let the beast rest and the color settle before I decide if it needs a third go round.
In the meantime, there are plenty of board game pieces left. I wanted the plinth in a cooler color, to keep focus on the grail. I gave it a blue wash, and I plan on dry brushing over the top with a cool ivory for an ethereal glow. Excalibur got wet blended cerulean tones with some ivory to try and create some depth. Went heavy on the blue wash; not sure how it’s going to dry yet but hopefully I can figure out how to highlight it. Lancelot’s cloak is a ruddy flesh tone mixed with a pair of oranges and then wet blended. For the wash I mixed a flesh tone with a red tone, which, so far, has created a lovely rust.
I am trying not a buy any more minis until I’ve moved, but there are far too many options out there. I want Seraphon, and Skaven, and Gloomspite Gitz, and Blue Horrors, but mostly space dinosaurs. And maybe some Orruks. And Kharadron Overlords. Fyreslayers. I knew this game was a terrible idea.
Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.
